Hassan said they needed political good will to conduct elections
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has told off politicians scheming to push the elections date to August next year.
IEBC Chair  Isaack Hassan has moved to assure Kenyans that they are well prepared to conduct the general election as scheduled in March 4, 2013.
Addressing journalists on Sunday, Hassan said it was unfortunate for such leaders to mislead Kenyans for their own selfish interests noting that they were using IEBC as their scape goat.
"We need political good will to conduct elections. We are prepared for the election and we should not be used as scape goats" stated the IEBC boss.
A section of politicians including Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim have come out to openly declare that it is impossible to hold the next elections in March.
Maaalim cited delay in procuring Biometric voter registration kits, issuance of IDs as reasons why the March 4th poll is impractical.
Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa has also reacted to the claims and maintained that next year's election date still stands.
Wamalwa dismissed those pushing for an extension of the election date as misplaced and misleading Kenyans.
He assured Kenyans that the electoral body and government were ready for the polls.
