I Will Win With More Than 50%: Raila Odinga

Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said he will win the 2013 general election by more than 50 per cent. Raila said victory will prove he won the contested 2007 election. "Those saying I should join President Kibaki in retirement are ill informed. I am the next president of Kenya," said Raila at a well attended ODM rally in Isinya, Kajiado.

ODM's chiefs were on a campaign mission for their Kajiado North by-election candidate Peter Mositet on Monday evening.

Odinga said he will not retire because he is yet to accomplish what he promised Kenyans before his "win" was snatched away by the PNU. "The soup I promised Kenyans was saturated by those who snatched my victory. I will give Kenyans the leadership they have waited for for too long," he said.

He asked voters in Kajiado North to support Mositet saying an ODM candidate who recently defected to another political party cannot be trusted.

Odinga compared the defector to a housefly that sinks and dies in a pot of milk while trying to drink. "The Maasai should not trust the defector because after the last elections, he told me his votes were stolen by PNU and I gave him money to contest the results in court. He went behind the scenes and sold his rights without informing me or the community," Raila said in reference to TNA candidate Moses Sakuda who contested the seat in 2007 but lost to the late George Saitoti. Sakuda later dropped an election petition to have the results overturned. Raila also campaigned for Mositet in Ewaso and Isinya.

The Premier later drove to Kitengela where he addressed thousands of ODM supporters. He was accompanied by Cabinet ministers James Orengo, Henry Kosgey, William Ntimama, Paul Otuoma, Anyang' Nyong'o and assistant minister Joseph Nkaissery.

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga led hundreds of his supporters to the Isinya rally. Njenga promised to work closely with ODM to ensure it wins the Kajiado North seat.
