I will replace MARTIN SHIKUKU – says BONNY KHALWALE

Monday September 3, 2012 - Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale has said that he will replace veteran politician Martin Shikuku as “the watchman of the people”.

The fiery politician, who always condemns the gods and goddesses of corruption in the country, said Shikuku fought against poor governance during his tenure as MP for Butere and he will take the war from where he left when he died.

“Shikuku fought the Kenyatta and Moi administration bitterly because of poor leadership and entrenched corruption. I promise to take the war on corruption to the next level,”Khalwale said.

Khalwale who chairs the Public Account Committee in parliament has been in the limelight over his commitment in exposing mass graft in the government.

Recently, Khalwale unmasked the god of corruption in the PNU side of coalition Amos Kimunya, over the disappearance of Sh 1.8 billion in De La Rue money printing saga.

He also exposed Trade Minister Moses Wetangula over the disappearance of Sh 1.2 billion in Tokyo embassy scandal.

Will Khalwale be able replace Shikuku?
