Will it be HER? Former Vice President Uncle Moody Awori’s DAUGHTER

Friday, August 24, 2012 - Nelly Awori Matheka, the daughter of former Vice President Moody Awori is among 13 candidates who are to be vetted for the Chairperson of Kenya National Commission for Human Rights position. Professor Jaoko who currently holds the chair person position’s term of service to the commission is about to end.

Nelly is known to be an assertive and all rounded lawyer and acts as the Standard Group legal officer. She also sits in the board of Media Corporation of Kenya. She will be competing with fearless lawyer and activist Vincent Lempaa who is the former Kenya Broadcasting Corporation court journalist for the prestigious position.

Lempaa is known to have education from the United Kingdom and he came to the limelight when he fought for the rights of KBC employees. Most of their woes were addressed though there is still much to be done in the dying government owned broadcasting station.

The panel responsible for vetting the chairperson and board members has requested Kenyans with any information regarding the shortlisted candidates who were published in national newspapers to write to the panel in confidence.
