We are used to G4S but now it is WELLS FARGO…..Oooh...45 million?

Wednesday, August 8, 2012 - Police in Nairobi are holding a Wells Fargo security guard who is alleged to have disappeared with cash amounting to Sh. 45 million in both local and foreign currency, while on transit from Eldoret to Nairobi via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The suspect was being escorted by police officers and security guards from the company to Eldoret’s Moi International Airport and he was expected to exit at a destined gate at JKIA holding the 7kgs bag of money meant for Bank of Africa.

Police and escort security guards who were waiting for the guard at JKIA waited hours but he did not show up thus raising suspicion.

Hours later the guard walked into Karen police station without the money and claimed that he had been kidnapped by a gang of armed robbers and taken to a waiting car. He further added that the gang robbed him off the money and dumped him at Karen area.

Apparently the guard made a phone call before he boarded the plane at Eldoret and switched it off. He only switched it on at Karen police station where he reported the robbery.

Police in Karen suspect it was an inside job and are still interrogating the guard on the whereabouts of the money.
