UHURU forms another alliance with RUTO


Monday August 13, 2012 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta has moved in haste by forming a special team to work on the modalities of forming another alliance which seeks to bring together other presidential aspirants.

The team comprises Yvonne Khamati, Ambassador Mac Dawallo, Mwangi Mutuse, Moses Kuria and Stephen Karau.

The team has up to the end of this month to come up with a coalition agreement and working arrangement for the presidential aspirants in line with the election act time –line.

The alliance will be registered as a party before August 31 if it has to meet the deadline for participating in the elections and thus the working team has been given an August 23 deadline to finalise on logo, colours, manifesto and nominations.

According to a credible source who spoke to the DAILY POST on condition of anonymity, Uhuru and Ruto have agreed among themselves on the working modalities of the alliance but they want it formalized by the special team.

The source said Uhuru is seeking  to be  the presidential  candidate for the alliance, Eugene Wamalwa his running mate, Ruto the leader of majority and Raphael Tuju the House Speaker of the Senate.
