OJODE’s brothers want HIS MONEY and ask Ulda to go to court

OJODE’s brothers want HIS MONEY and ask Ulda to go to court

Friday, August 17, 2012 - Former Internal Security Assistant Minister Orwa Ojode’s mother has gone to court over the sharing of late Ojode’s benefits.

Mrs Ulda Oloo Ojode is seeking the court to stop the National Assembly from processing the benefits and paying the same to the Ojode’s widow Mary Ojode.

Ojode’s mother has sued the National Assembly and the widow over what she termed as neglecting her, saying Ojode was her only source of income and the widow has neglected her
Ulda moved to court under a certificate of urgency on August 10 seeking temporary orders.

The widow was yet to be served with the suit papers as she was still in Ndhiwa. It is however believed that the brothers are the ones behind the suit but are hiding in the pretext of the old woman.

Few months ago after Ojode passed away, Mary chased away everyone in their Runda home and told the family to leave her alone. The brothers were not happy that they were not getting a dime from their late brother’s estate and benefits from the National Assembly.

There were some arguments fronted that the rent collections of their houses in Ndhiwa are enough to sustain the old mother but the family wanted more. The brothers moved to court but due to public outcry, the opted out and are now pushing the old mother to do so.

Presiding judge, Mary Angawa, did not issue any orders but directed the parties to appear in court on August 27.

Ojode died in a plane crash on June 10 together with his boss Prof George Saitoti and four others.
