The public persona of politicians should not in any way be construed to be the reality. While many perceive Peter Kenneth to be a bitter rival of Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, this is just a facade created by some of their supporters who want to create the impression that their political rivalry for votes from central Kenya or indeed, anywhere else in the country, extends into their personal lives. It might, therefore, come as a surprise that the two—like many other politicians who find themselves in opposing camps—talk quite frequently and amicably. It's only their 'people' who tend to whip up the so called tensions!

Mutava Musyimi has been all over the place trying to garner support for his presidential ambition. It seems his party of choice is divided over whether to back his bid or support DPM Uhuru Kenyatta. This uncertainty has seems to have given the former NCCK boss and Gachoka MP reason to pause in his campaigns. This might be a costly decision as the momentum he had managed to gather is slowly ebbing away.

A newly-appointed chairman of a state parastatal has made his presence literally felt by the staff. The man, who is reportedly related to a powerful permanent secretary surrounds himself with up to seven bodyguards, who shove and push aside any hapless employee who dares to be on the chairman's path. The man is not an executive chairman and therefore is only required to be in the office when he is chairing the board. He continues to make life unbearable for the parastatal staff as he shows up at the offices every day!

Our moles tell us that Raj Devani, a relative of fugitive Triton scam mastermind Yagnesh Devani, was involved in an altercation with a watchman Enock Okindo Bikeri at Shimmers Towers in Parklands three weeks ago during which he threatened the hapless watchman with his gun. The watchman dutifully reported the incident to the Parklands police station and narrated how Raj assaulted him with his gun. Since then, no action has been taken as the police do not seem to be in a hurry to investigate the incident or even record statements from either Raj or the watchman!
