Youths demonstrate against Mary Wambui and RAILA


Sunday, July 22, 2012 - Hundreds of youths from all over Kenya held a demonstration along Nairobi streets this morning against the government’s blatant display of nepotism in all appointments.

The youths who were against open nepotism by the government had key amongst their grievances the awarding of an IEBC tender to Mary Wambui worth Sh. 3.9 billion for biometric voter registration kits to be used in the upcoming General Election.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga is also accused of giving his family jobs thus making equality impossible. Among the people they pointed out to have attained jobs under the Premier’s powers are his cousin Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo, Mr. Odembo, his in law who is the current Kenyan Ambassador in Washington DC among other members of his family.

The demonstrators started their journey from Uhuru Park making a stopover in different streets before reaching Harambee Avenue where the demonstration reached its climax.
