Uhuru, Ruto in separate Coast campaign rallies

DEPUTY Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto will pitch camp at the Coast this weekend to popularise their presidential bids as Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi goes to the vote-rich Meru region. Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka will wind up his rallies in Ukambani this weekend as he prepares to launch a nationwide campaign programme. Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be in Nairobi while James ole Kiyiapi will tour Western Kenya.
Ruto, who was in Bura and Halo areas of Tana River county yesterday, will proceed to Garsen and Masalani in the same county before heading to Watamu and Kilifi town on Saturday. He will wind up his tour in Ukunda, Kwale county on Sunday where he will be hosted by Trade minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere and address a URP rally.
DPM Uhuru will pitch tent for two days in Lamu county where he is scheduled to address various meetings and open a TNA office. This morning Uhuru will open KCB bank office in Mpeketoni before addressing a rally at Uhuru Gardens. He will, in the afternoon, meet leaders in Witu and Hindi areas before addressing other public gatherings. Tomorrow, Uhuru will cross over to the Island for other meetings before addressing two rallies.
Mudavadi, who was in Nyandarua and Nanyuki yesterday, will be in Meru today, then go to Maua tomorrow and end his rallies in Tharaka Nithi county on Sunday. PM Raila will attend an ODM Youth and Women Conventions this morning and tomorrow morning respectively at the Bomas of Kenya. Kalonzo will be in Kitui county for two days to cap his home rallies. Today he will be in Kitui town and tomorrow in his birthplace of Mwingi to end his four-day Ukambani tour which began in Machakos on Monday.
Kiyiapi, a former Education PS, will address a youth meeting in Kakamega, tomorrow morning before attending a Shinyalu Knut AGM where he will give a keynote address. "On Sunday, he will attend a church service at Vihiga in the morning before meeting the Restore and Build Kenya Western Kenya aspirants in the afternoon," a statement from his campaign secretariat said.
