Miguna’s book alleges corruption at the Prime Minister’s office Prime Minister Raila Odinga Sunday rubbished corruption allegations directed at him by his former aide turn foe Miguna Miguna in his book "Peeling off the Mask." The book alleges that the office of the prime minister was involved in the maize, Triton and Kazi kwa Vijana scandals. In a full paid advert Raila's Office scoffed at the allegations terming them malicious and calculated to achieve some selfish motives. This came as ODM reloaded team tore at Miguna's allegation claiming they were kicks of a dying horse. But amid the theatrics in the ODM family the PM political opponents were baying for his blood calling on him to take political responsibility and step aside until cleared of the allegations. Miguna may have left the country for Canada, but his book continues to raise mixed reactions. A glance in a section of Sunday's dailies proves that, with political commentators giving their take on how Raila should handle the matter. Whereas the opinion is divided, some are of the opinion that Raila should not even bother responding to Miguna's claims. But through his office perhaps the PM is setting things straight through black and white to counter the claims. In a full page paid up advert, Raila's Office in a step by step account shredded Miguna's allegation beginning with the alleged Maize, Triton and Kazi Kwa Vijana scandals. The statement ended by on calling on Kenyans to exercise the hard earned freedom of expression with responsibility as prescribed by the constitution. The statement said, "The Office of the Prime Minister respects and upholds the rights of every Kenyan to the cherished Freedom of Expression. But we remind Kenyans that these freedoms must be exercised with the responsibility prescribed by our Constitution and all other laws of the land." In Kajiado, Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba scoffed at Miguna's claims terming him a gun for hire. But TNA supporters led by Water Assistant Minister Ferdinand Waititu are now calling on the Premier to take political responsibility over the claims. All these are happening when the prime minister is in China securing a host contracts for Kenya ranging from road construction to fibre optics cabling.
