Mutoko and Churchill join tourism boards

RADIO Africa's Caroline Mutoko and Daniel Ndambuki, commonly known as Churchill, have been appointed to two key tourism related boards. Mutoko has been appointed the chair of the Kenya Tourism Development Corporation while Ndambuki will sit in the Bomas of Kenya board. The appointment are carried in a special issue of The Kenya Gazette No 69 dated 20 July by Tourism minister Dan Mwazo. "I am excited to be part of the new change," said Ndambuki yesterday. Radio journalist Granton Samboja of Milele FM was appointed to the Kenyatta International Conference Centre board. 
In addition, President Kibaki has appointed Antony Wahome the chair of the Catering and Tourism Development Levy Trustees and Gerson Misumi,  the Carnivore general manager, chair of the Kenya Utalii College. The President also appointed Killian Lugwe the chair of the Hotels and Restaurants Authority. "These changes are part of the measures being undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism in readiness for the adoption of the new Tourism Act, 2011, and are meant to streamline the delivery of services across the different corporations," said the ministry in a statement. Sports personality Paul Tergat and hotelier Martin Danford of the Carnivore Hotel have been appointed to the KTB board members.
