Miguna’s book, “Peeling Back the Mask: A quest for justice” has sparked a lot of controversy
Former legal advisor to the Prime Minister, and lawyer Miguna Miguna has reportedly left the country, hours after Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko sought to have him record a statement over his claims linking some political leaders to post poll chaos.
Miguna left Tuesday amid criticism from leaders and lobby groups allied to ODM and the Prime Minister, adversely mentioned as a crusader of corruption in Miguna's recently released book, "Peeling Back the Mask".
It is alleged that he left the country for Europe to popularize his autobiography that has painted a questionable image on his former boss Raila Odinga and his lieutenants.
The allegations have elicited a heated debate with calls to apprehend Miguna and have him
record a statement with the CID on what he knows about the post poll  chaos.
Meanwhile, a group of professionals and business people from Nakuru are suing Miguna over his remarks regarding the 2007-2008 post election violence.
The group spokesman Samuel Muche says claims by Miguna that the Prime minister was involved in the post poll chaos are likely to evoke ethnic animosities among Kenyans ahead of the forthcoming General Election.
Speaking to journalists Tuesday in Nakuru, Muche argued that it is criminal for Miguna to withhold such vital information adding that he should have availed it to the International Criminal Court investigators.
Miguna claimed on Saturday that he has information that links the Prime Minister to the chaos and dared anyone aggrieved by his book to sue him.
On Monday, Raila's Administrative Secretary Caroli Omondi  sued Miguna Miguna for libel and defamation.
Omondi instructed his lawyer George Oraro to take legal action against Miguna for defaming him in the controversial book "Peeling Back the Mask: A quest for justice.
