KIRAITU to be RUTO’s running mate

Monday July 23, 2012-Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi has been hinted as a probable running mate of Eldoret North MP William Ruto in the forthcoming general elections.

Addressing faithful at Egoji Catholic Church in Embu, Ruto said that he might pick Kiraitu Murungi as a running mate to strengthen his ties with the Meru community.

Ruto, who is a United Republican Party (URP) presidential flagbearer, said should Kiraitu fail to get the position; he would look for an alternative candidate from the Coast region.

“Discussions are at an advanced stage to make a leader from Meru or Coast regions a running mate and I feel Kiraitu is the most qualified for the position,” Ruto said

“Due to the working relationship I enjoy with Kiraitu, many feel that I should make him my running mate and I fully welcomed the idea,” he added.

He praised Kiraitu for his political experience and his firm stand on political, social and development issues.

Ruto urged Kenyans to elect the next president depending on his or her credentials, performance and experience.
