An MP from Rift Valley has reportedly sought financial assistance from retired President Moi. The MP was overheard telling parliamentary colleagues that she was going through hard times. She said things were so tight financially that a week ago she got stuck after her vehicle got a puncture and she did not have money to buy a spare wheel! She is even considering selling off her house in the city to try and settle some of her bills.

A Kenya envoy accredited to an African country has abandoned his family after he married his secretary. The diplomat and his lover (who is also married) are living in rented house in one of the city suburbs while the diplomat's home in Karen has been put up for sale to try and offset debts amounting to more than Sh40 million which the envoy owes a local bank. The diplomat's wife has already filed divorce papers and has relocated to their rural home.

The project is one of the more than 100 flagship projects in Vision 2030 that will allow irrigation for agriculture and as well as a hydro power project. Officials at the Ministry of Regional Development Authorities have found themselves in a sticky situation—how to explain why the Chinese company lost the deal to a 'sister' company and whether the latter has the capacity to undertake the project which is estimated at Sh14 billion.

PRIME minister Raila Odinga and his deputy Uhuru Kenyatta took to the internet to congratulate Kenyan journalists who once again led the continent in the prestigious CNN/Multichoice Journalist of the Year Awards. Raila tweeted his congratulations to the winning journalists whom he listed in full. However there was a glaring omission (deliberate or otherwise) on Uhuru's Facebook message in which he commended all but Star's John Muchangi who received the top award in the health category for his story on HIV!
