CONTROVERSY: 4 arrested over ambassador MURDER

CONTROVERSY: 4 arrested over ambassador MURDER

Saturday, July 28, 2012 - Yesterday the DAILY POST reported the cruel murder of Venezuela’s ambassador Ms. Olga Fonseca; reports now in indicate that 4 employees at the Consular have been arrested in connection with the murder.

According to Nairobi PPO Anthony Kibuchi the ambassador’s murder came as a shock to the Consular since she has only been in the country for less than two weeks. She was deployed to replace Mr. Gararto da Silva who left the office dishonorably after he was involved in a sexual harassment case in the Consular.

Apparently Fonseca was not received well when she reported to her work station; she has been rubbing the shoulders of her deputy who was working as the acting Ambassador after the departure of Silva.

The deputy is said to have denied her access to the bank accounts of the office and declined to give her the authority to be the signatory as it is tradition.

Police also suspect the 5 employees who have filed a case against Silva for sexual harassment after she fired them on Wednesday after they declined to withdraw the case against the former Ambassador.

The employees termed the demand as infringement into their rights and they refused to sign the written document. Fonseca however fired them on insubordination allegations.

Guards at her Runda home found her on her bed dead after she failed to leave the home at 9 a.m. as usual. The guards alerted police who arrived at the scene of the incident yesterday morning.

According to police reports, Fonseca was murdered through strangulation at her table room and dragged upstairs to her bed room where she was placed on the bed cautiously.

It is still not clear how the assailants entered the heavily guarded residence and left without notice. Police suspect that it was an inside job and they are questioning the guards and all those suspected to have committed the crime.

Rumor has it that her death may not have been perpetrated by the employees but Spanish drug barons who she rubbed shoulders with while she worked as Venezuela Ambassador in Spain.
