A businesswoman was on Tuesday evening shot and seriously injured by armed gangsters. However nothing was stolen in the shooting. Police said three young men walked into West End Wines and Spirits shop in Ronald Ngala and Tom Mboya streets posing as customers and shot the woman, who is the proprietor, in the neck before. The victim was rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital where she is admitted in serious condition.
Although the motive of the attack is unknown, detectives suspect business rivalry. Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for a group of about 20 youths of Somalia origin who attacked pedestrians and traders in Eastleigh and robbed them of mobile phones, wallets, and handbags. Residents allege that the gang has been harassing them for a long time without police intervention.
