Friday, July 20, 2012 - The Kenya Paraplegic Organization through their campaign initiative Bring Zack Back home have so far raised 60 million of the 250 million expected to be raised before the return of Zack from his journey to South Africa.

The campaign is intended to raise money to erect our very own and first Spinal injury recovery center in East and Central Africa, the nearest center is in South Africa thus the journey for Zack.

Zack has covered about 1000 km on his 4,000km journey to South Africa.

The organization has since the launch of the campaign managed to acquire an 11 acre land in Kiserian where the construction of the center will start when the money is raised.

Kenya Paraplegic Organization Executive Director Tim Wanyonyi said their efforts to have the government fund the center were futile thus the campaign. He said the public alone has raised Sh. 50 million while organizations worldwide have donated Sh. 15 million.

GS Vohra, a member of the organization is calling on Kenyans of goodwill and organizations to help them build an affordable and home grown solution to people affected by the spinal injury.
