Armed gang steals Sh3m in bank raid

Armed gangsters raided Paramount Bank in Nairobi Friday and stole Sh3.1 million.
A witness told police that the eight-man gang sped away on motorbikes after the 8.00 am robbery at the bank's Westlands branch.
Four gangsters, two of them armed with pistols, entered the bank while the rest kept vigil outside.
The assailants, who seemed to know their way around the bank well, headed straight to the locker room after picking out one of the employees who had the keys.
They ordered staff to lie on the floor.
The gangsters took only two boxes from the room, leaving behind three others that did not have cash.
The loot was in local and foreign currency, according to a police officer who spoke to the Nation.
Within five minutes, the gangsters had disappeared.
