The tribunal set up to investigate the conduct of the Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza says it is currently involved in preliminary works and the real hearing will commence very soon.
It is now three months since a tribunal was appointed by the President following Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recommendation to have Baraza suspended and her conduct investigated following a gun drama with a security guard Rebecca Kerubo at the Village Market, Nairobi.
The works of the commission have been shrouded in secrecy with no clear signal as to when it will commence its work.
On Thursday the media was informed that the tribunal was to begin hearing only to turn out that it was a wild goose chase.
But on Friday in a statement the Chairman of the tribunal Retired Chief Justice of Tanzania Augustino Stephen Ramadhani urged the media not to speculate on the dates of the hearings and mislead the public.
"We urge the media not to speculate on the process of the Tribunal so as not to mislead members of the public." He said.
He says that the tribunal will have to put in place groundwork necessary for setting in motion the hearings.
These include drafting of the rules of procedure and preparation of evidence of witnesses. Once this is complete the tribunal will issue a fourteen day notice of hearing to Lady Justice Nancy Baraza.
The Deputy Chief Justice who is also the vice president of the Supreme Court in the country is being investigated for misconduct that she threatened a security gourd Rebecca Kerubo and pinched her nose on the new eve at the village Market.
