Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday took his campaigns to Kirinyaga County and declared that he was fully in the G7 alliance.
“I’m right inside the alliance and that is my stand,” he told residents at Kabare Boys’ Primary School in Gichugu Constituency.
He denied claims that he had been sidelined by other leaders of the alliance and accused the media of fabrication.
“Contrary to the impression created by the media, I’m united with Deputy PM Uhuru Kenyatta, Eldoret North MP William Ruto and other members of the alliance,” he said.
Mr Musyoka, who is on a two-day tour of the county, emphasised that the alliance was strong and its ultimate goal of taking over the country’s leadership could not be stopped.
He caused laughter when he said that there would be no squeezing through other presidential candidates this time, and that he was going straight to State House.
“People are talking about squeezing between. Not again. I’m now going for the top seat,” he said.
The VP told the residents that, if elected, his priority would be to unite all Kenyans.

He was accompanied by MPs Mike Mbuvi (Sonko), Ferdinand Waititu and Victor Munyaka.
The MPs challenged Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua to join their alliance. “If Ms Karua fails to join the alliance she will be rendered irrelevant politically,” Mr Waititu said.
