The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has launched a voter education exercise for mock elections as it prepares for the general election.
IEBC chairman Isaack Hassan says the mock election will be held in Kajiado North constituency and Malindi next Saturday.
He says the purpose of the exercise is to test the six ballot election and identify any challenges that the commission may face during the general election.
Hassan says with the  challenges identified during the mock exercise, IEBC will be able to come up with solutions ahead of the polls in order to hold smooth and credible elections.
Hassan also maintains that his team was within the law to set the March 4th election date arguing that the move was necessitated by the failure by President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to decide.
The two constituencies were selected owing to their rural and urban features which will be used to determine the time taken to cast the vote by a rural and an urban voter.
However the biggest hurdle for the IEBC remains the millions of voters in the Diaspora who Commissioners Albert Bwire says for who some had acquired citizenships in their new countries will have to re-apply for Kenyan citizenship.
