The minister urged Kenyans to be vigilant and report any suspicious people
Internal security minister professor George Saitoti has assured hoteliers that the government has put every measure in place to protect the hotel industry from Al Shabaab threats by providing security officers to ensure security in their premises.
Saitoti who was speaking in Malindi after meeting with the security officers within the north coast region said security officers are working hard to patrol and advise hoteliers on the security situation to protect the tourism industry.
The minister urged Kenyans to be vigilant and report any suspicious people they come across to help track down criminals who might be leaving within.
He termed the recent Machakos Bus grenade attacks as unfortunate and said the government is doing everything possible to nab all perpetrators involved.
At the same time, Professor Saitoti has lauded the efforts made by Kenya Defense Forces and the AMISON officers to bring peace in Somali.
The minister however says modalities to relocate refugees back to Somali are underway especially in areas that have been secured and it is time for the international community to consider the option that will see the numbers reduce at Dadaab camp without force to those areas that are already stabilized.
Kenya Defence Forces wound up its operations in the Somalia as a single entity and have now joined the African Union Mission in Somalia-AMISOM to form a strong contingent.
The force will now get logistical support from the United Nations and the African union for the mission in the war ravaged nation.
Under the Amisom force,  the Kenyan contingent will work in sector 2 together with their sierra Leone counterparts  which incidentally covers  Kismayu the headquarter of the Alshabaab.
