Cotu has vowed to oppose the ruling by the High Court to have the general election next year. Secretary general Francis Atwoli said Kenyans need a new system of government that will save them from the biting inflation, and pushing the date further will mean more tribulations for innocent Kenyans.
He said new leaders with the interests of their people at heart are needed to save Kenyans from the economic injustice meted by the greedy current crop of leaders and the system of government. Atwoli said pushing the election date to 2013 will hurt the economy as people are psychologically prepared to elect new leaders this year as per the constitution.
