Bomb scare at Holy Family Basilica as worshippers evacuated

Though no explosive device was found, worshippers were allowed back in the church but this time, there was thorough screening
Panic and anxiety gripped hundreds of catholic faithful who had gathered at the Holy Family Basilica church to celebrate the birth of Christ after rumor spread that a bomb had been planted within the church compound.
Officers from the General Service and Anti-Terrorism Unit however arrived immediately and evacuated the worshippers as they embarked on a thorough search and screening of the entire church compound.  
Cardinal John Njue had to suspend the mass as worshippers began to stream out of the church.
Sniffer dogs were brought into the church as police sealed off  the entire area.
The incident caused panic as curious worshippers left the church in haste while others stood from a distance watching as bomb experts screened the area.
Though no explosive device was found, worshippers were allowed back in the church but this time, there was thorough screening.
The incident comes barely hours after a lone attacker hurled a hand grenade at a Wajir club injuring 25 people
