Tourism Assistant Minister Cecily Mbarire has refuted allegations by the Kenya Anti-Corruption Director Dr. PLO Lumumba that with her husband Dennis Apaa, they attempted to bribe the Anti-graft Chief.
Mbarire says the claimed money that is said to have been a bribe was a donation to a fundraising under the invitation of the Dr. Lumumba.
Addressing a media conference at Parliament buildings Mbarire termed the allegations as scandalous and unconventional where she now threatens to sue the anti-graft Chief for defamation and false allegations.
Monday KACC Director said the Water Assistant Minister and her husband were compromising investigations into the water and irrigation ministry scandal, by allegedly trying to offer a Shs. 100,000 bribe.
Lumumba alleged that the Company wrote him a cheque of shs. 100, 000 which he rejected pending further negotiations in a meeting.
The case is under the police investigations.
