By Robin Toskin
Italy and AC Milan great Franco Baresi has backed Macdonald Mariga to succeed at Serie A side Inter Milan.
Baresi, who made 719 appearances for AC Milan in a colourful career spanning 20 years, said Mariga is in the right league and he would enjoy himself.
"With the right attitude and good work ethic Mariga will be a success in the Serie A. He is a good player. The Italian league is very tough and I believe he will have good experience there," Baresi who captained AC Milan, told FeverPitch on Sunday at Korogocho, Nairobi.
The former defender added: "Technically he will always improve and he will be a good asset for Kenya."

Mariga joined Inter Milan in January 2010 and the 24-year-old has helped the Nerazzuri to six trophies including the treble during Jose Mourinho era, the Italian Cup and World Club title when they beat TP Mazembe 3-0 and the Italian Super Cup.

The Harambee Stars midfielder recently told FeverPitch that contrary to some opinion that he should leave Inter in search of more game time, he is happy at Inter.
And Baresi’s vote of confidence will spur the youngster ahead of the new season in August.
Baresi, now an Ambassador of AC Milan Foundation is in the country to promote the activities of Grapesyard Organization-Alice For Children Programme that takes care of orphans.
The legend took time to watch a final match of AC Milan Slum football between Korogocho Slum Kids and their Kibera Slums counterparts, which the former won.
The Italian legend said it pleases him to see young kids play the game, always dreaming to be like Mariga.
"Some will make it some will not. For AC Milan we strive to make men and women of good standing out of the slum kids," he said.
Meanwhile Bandari are through to the second round of the FK Cup after veteran Tanzania goalkeeper Ivo Mapunda saved a penalty in regulation time to keep scores 0-0 and another spotkick as Bandari won 5-4 on penalties.
The winners of the trophy represent Kenya in Caf Confederation Cup.
