IMMIGRATION minister Otieno Kajwang' yesterday declared his interest for the Homa Bay senate seat. Kajwang' joins other aspirants namely Sammy Wakiaga from Mbita and Ndhiwa MP Orwa Ojodeh  who have already declared their interest in the seat.
Speaking when he presided over a funds drive at Wandiege Secondary School in Mbita, Kajwang' said he had made up his mind to go for the senate seats and leave the legislation roles to “upcoming politicians”. "I have served the people of Mbita for three terms and they are satisfied with my performance. I will not disappoint them if I go a notch higher and vie to represent the people of Homa Bay," said Kajwang."I am committed to nurturing the unity of Homa Bay people."
Kajwang' said he deserved the senate seat because of the vast experience he has gathered from the August House in the legislation of laws. His interest in the seat is likely to elicit a new political war pitying him and Ojodeh who has declared interest for the seat.
