A senior civil servant in the Ministry of Local government is understood have flown to London recently allegedly to conceal some substantial amount of cash in a foreign account. While it is not known how the man could have travelled out of the country and into the UK when international laws stipulates that one can only carry about US$10,000 in cash. Whatever the amount, the man is hoping to build a nest egg ahead of his bid for a political seat in next year's elections. Jersey or no Jersey, it seems some political wannabees are still hoping to 'invest' abroad.

A mayoral aspirant who was allegedly accused of 'taking' a cobbler's wife has opted out of the race. The cobbler accused the city father of luring away the woman who is a mother of six. The civic leader is afraid that if he persists in his mayoral ambitions, he might fail the integrity  test which all elected officials have to undergo.
