Share/Save/Bookmark An ODM Cabinet minister visited the home of one of the people who appeared before the parliamentary Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee which was vetting the CJ, Deputy CJ and Director of Public Prosecution nominees. The minister visited the man’s home in Lang’ata in the wee hours of the morning to persuade him to change his mind and appear before the session. The man had dismissed the hearings as inconsequential.

Questions are being asked as to why the Justice ministry is funding a parallel cohesion committee that appears to be competing with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission chaired by Mzalendo Kibunjia. The committee under the ministry has been going round the country duplicating the work of the Kibunjia-led commission and has even written a cohesion policy which is due to be presented to Justice minister Mutula Kilonzo.

Staff at the Kenyan Embassy in Geneva, Switzerland, are demanding to be told the outcome of an investigation into their complaints conducted by the Foreign Affairs ministry senior officials led by Director of Administration Ndathi. Ndathi and his team travelled to Geneva to investigate the complaints by the staff and fellow diplomats concerning the envoy’s handling of issues.

MPs from Rift Valley  want Eldoret North MP William Ruto to name two deputy spokesmen for the Kalenjin Community. The MPs say having a deputy or two will help solidify Ruto’s hold on the community especially because one of them will come from North Rift while the other will be from South Rift which is dominated by the Kipsigis. Another  group wants just one spokesman and they have suggested that this should be either Belgut MP Charles Keter or Information minister Samuel Poghisio.
