Siakago Member of Parliament Lenny Kivuti at the weekend forced CDF committees to swear publicly they would use CDF cash properly. The MP who was on a tour of various development projects stunned the people when he insisted that the committees swear they'll use the money diligently before receiving their cheques.

The committees were made to line up in front of the people of the areas they represent for the swearing purpose. Each chairperson of the various committees had to lift up his/her hand and tell the people how long the project would take to complete.

The chairman of the construction committee was further required to commit himself that money would not be misappropriated. It was only after making the vows that the cheques were given out.
Among the projects the legislator visited included Ngiiri Primary and Cia Iria Day Secondary schools where he handed over Sh150, 000 and 300,000 respectively for completion of classrooms.
