Share/Save/Bookmark The Head of Civil Service Francis Muthaura has changed his working routine since the International Criminal Court issued a summons for him to appear at the Hague on April 7. Some of the civil servants who work in his office say Muthaura now goes to the office after 9 am unlike before when he would be at his desk before 7 am.

A senior Cabinet minister has resisted all attempts to record a statement on a deal that has caught the attention of the anti-corruption agency. The minister is believed to be at the centre of the mess which KACC executive director PLO Lumumba is interested in resolving. We are told that KACC might soon go to court for a warrant of arrest to compel the minister to record a statement on the matter.

Assistant minister for Tourism Cecily Mbarire has been missed by her staff at Utalii House who say she has not been seen there for weeks. The staff feel they have been left rudderless and are concerned that no-one is telling them where their youthful minister has gone.

Intelligence sources claim some of the youth groups operating at the Coast are being bankrolled by the Somali militia group al Shabaab. The spooks say that whenever one of their members is arrested, the youth groups hold demonstrations to protest against the arrest. The spooks say one such demo is planned for today to agitate for the release of a Kenyan being held in custody on suspicions that he is sympathetic to the Somali militia group.

A traffic policewoman who arrested a motorist for obstruction had to let the man go free. Reason? The policewoman had insisted on getting into the car with the motorist so that he could drive to Parklands Police Station and be booked. However, on the way to the station, the motorist kept on passing wind. The gas was so potent that the policewoman asked the motorist to stop before they got to the station. She jumped out with relief, told the motorist she had forgiven him. The motorist promptly drove off.
