He may be very unpopular with many men especially those who love their drink but Naivasha MP John Mututho is becoming the darling of many women for pushing through the Alcohol Control Act 2010 which he engineered. Whenever the MP attends a public function, he is welcomed by ululations from the women some of whom have been openly shouting their support for the Act which they credit with bringing their wayward husbands back to their matrimonial duties instead of dissipating their energy on drinking.

Over the weekend, former Mathioya MP Joseph Kamotho emerged at a public function after many months of silence. And his message to politicians was that they should take each day at a time because their fiery politics will one day come to pass. Kamotho, of the famous quote Kanu ni Baba na Mama was heard reliving his past and reminding politicians within earshot that he was once the mover and shaker of Kenyan politics but that this had all gone.
