Cardinal Njue tells MPs to stop fuelling tribalism

Cardinal John Njue has asked Members of Parliament to stop bickering in public. He said divisive sentiments cause animosity among communities.

Instead, Cardinal Njue advises, the legislators should embrace dialogue to find a lasting solution to their differences. He said dialogue is the only solution to the the frequent wrangling among leaders.

The cleric challenged President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to rally the MPs towards championing national interests and stop the habit of castigating each other in public. He said leaders should stop making tribal remarks in public.

The Cardinal challenged them to concentrate their efforts in ensuring Kenyans co-existed peacefully to hasten development in the country. On family matters, the cardinal asked men to also embrace dialogue when dealing with the the challenges they faced with their wives. He was speaking in Narok.
