And Sirisia MP Moses Wetang’ula, Turkana North MP John Munyes and their Kimilili counterpart Eseli Simiyu are expected to appear before the tribunal on Monday for the mention of a complaint by a faction led by Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa.
The tribunal issued an order on Thursday stopping a repeat of the grassroots elections in the branches until the matter is resolved.
The National Executive Committee had resolved last week that the party repeats the polls in 30 branches, which included party chairman Musikari Kombo’s Webuye and Mr Wamalwa’s Saboti.
A committee that had been appointed by the party to review the grassroots polls resolved that there should be a repeat in the branches. (Read: Ford Kenya calls for strategy meeting)
But Mr Wamalwa contested the plan and sought intervention from the registrar of political parties, saying the decision was illegal as the matter was before the tribunal.
He said party elders, who had been tasked with reconciling the factions, had been stopped from transacting further activities until the dispute was resolved by the registrar.
The Saboti legislator said the party failed to agree on grassroots elections, with one group insisting that there should be no repeat of elections.
“The differences in the party are irreconcilable. We cannot move on like this,” he said.
