Makadara MP Gidion ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi has asked Parliament to assure him of security following a forced entry into his parliamentary office by three senior police officers on Tuesday morning.

A Deputy Commissioner of Police, an Assistant Commissioner of Police and a Senior Superintendent of Police forced their way into the MP’s Continental House office at 11am after threatening the staff in total disregard of parliamentary privileges.
The Continental Building houses MPs offices and the incident raised concern over MP’s parliamentary privileges.
Tuesday’s incident follows another raid in his house in Buruburu on December 10.
The MP told the House in a personal statement that in the earlier incident, four armed men raided his house situated a few metres from the Buruburu Police Station around 5.45am after roughing up his two security guards.
Two of the men were arrested by the security officers while the rest escaped, according to the MP.
But those arrested were later released without any charges from the Buruburu Police Station where they had been booked.
Mr Mbuvi said he was shocked after his attempt to seek clarification from the OCS when they told him the two were released after an “order from above”.
“Mr Speaker I even went further by calling the Commissioner of Police on his cell phone number 0714 66 99 30 but he told me that I was too junior to talk to him,” he claimed.
The Speaker of the National Assembly will on Wednesday be issuing a communication on Tuesday’s incident.
Mr Mbuvi, who brought the matter in the House on Tuesday, said the three officers told him that he should not consider himself to be “so special”.
The MP claimed that they went ahead to threaten him with death if he continued to question the integrity and credibility of their boss — the Police Commissioner.
