Lands Minister James Orengo has hit out at a section of the clergy who want the new Constitution opened up to amendment, in order to address their grievances.

Mr Orengo stated that these calls are premature, as the document has not been promulgated. The clergy have ben urging the two Principals to initiate amendments to the new constitution. He says the enactment of the Constitution through a popular vote was critical in moving the country forward. Speaking during the official launch of the registration of the 46th International ISOCARP congress slated to take place between the 19th and 23rd of September this year, the Minister expressed optimism that the conference would yield positive results in achieving the blueprint of vision 2030.

The conference will bring together urban planners, architects and engineers from more than 70 countries.
