President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga will Monday afternoon meet Members of Parliament to discuss how to set up the constitution implementation committees.

The meeting is expected to discuss who will be sitting in the implementation oversight committee and what role the persons will play once the new Constitution is promulgated Friday next week.

The meeting at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre will bring together MPs from the Party of National Unity and the Orange Democratic Movement.

This is the first time after the ratification of the new law Kibaki and Raila are meeting the MPs.

The meeting comes amid wrangles in the ODM party, as the leadership threatened to discipline its members who opposed the new constitution by locking them out of the crucial committees.

Sources say that the No' team would attend the talks and ask the two principals to ensure that amendments were made to the new Constitution.

The Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee (CIOC) should be formed within 30 days after promulgation of the new law.

The MPs are yet to agree on the size of the committee.

After the meeting, the premier will at 6pm host a victory party for MPs who campaigned for the new Constitution at his Karen residence.

PM's spokesman, Mr Dennis Onyango, said the cocktail is in honour of the "Yes" team.
