Heard of "Eldoret Central"?

Politicians in Eldoret town who rallied residents there to vote in favour of the new Constitution, are demanding that their request for a new constituency to be called 'Eldoret Central' be given due consideration by the Boundaries Review Commission.

On Wednesday, leaders from the area addressed a press conference led by Councillor Peter Chomba, speaking about their request to the Boundaries Review Commission. In an apparent 'tit for tat' play, they sought to highlight the role they had played in the referendum process, and the votes they had managed to secure for the 'YES' camp.

The leaders also lauded the work done by the IIEC during the Referendum and expressed their desire to have the body confirmed, so that it can conduct the 2012 general elections, as it proved itself worthy of the task by conducting a free and fair voting process.
